inPhoto Capture software (Canon camera control) is very easy to install and run.
To install and run inPhoto Capture software the following simple operations should be performed:
in Windows 2000 / XP / Vista: connect your Canon digital photo camera to computer, and install inPhoto Capture.
Attention! If your operation system is Windows 2000 you must also install the Canon USB drivers from the CD that came with your camera in order to be able to connect to the camera. The latest Canon USB drivers can also be downloaded from http://www.powershot.com.
Once you installed inPhoto Capture software to your computer, you can run them as TWAIN driver or stand alone applications. If you use the inPhoto Capture software as TWAIN driver you have an ability of direct image capture from within any graphic applications supporting TWAIN protocol. Call for the driver's window from any program supporting TWAIN protocol (e.g. Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Imaging, ACDSee, Print Studio, ID Works, CardFive, EPISuite, etc.).
If you work in Adobe Photoshop go to File / Import / inPhoto Capture TWAIN.
If you work in Jasc Paint Shop Pro go to File / Import / TWAIN / Select Source, and select inPhoto Capture TWAIN. After the source is selected use Acquire command (File / Import / TWAIN / Acquire).
If you work in other graphic applications supporting TWAIN please refer to the corresponding documentation supplied with your graphic software.
Please note the following:
When it is installed the inPhoto Capture software does NOT create a shortcut on the desktop. However, it can be used as the stand alone application or as TWAIN driver. In ALL programs supporting TWAIN protocol the new source - "inPhoto Capture TWAIN" - will appear. Select this new source, and inPhoto Capture driver will start up.
If you work with CANON camera:
In order to be able to use the inPhoto Capture TWAIN driver to control your Canon camera from computer set your camera to Play back mode using the corresponding switch on your camera body. Connect your camera to PC using the USB cable. Switch on your camera. The new hardware (Canon camera) will be detected by your computer and installed.
If you miss to set your camera to Play back mode the message "Cannot connect to the camera" will be displayed when you run inPhoto Capture camera control software (as TWAIN driver from a TWAIN compatible application or as the stand alone application).
